More gold at Assean Lake

Vancouver — International Curator Resources (IC-T) has intersected a new gold zone at its Assean lake Property, near Thompson Manitoba.

Hole HT-86 intersected 0.71 grams gold over 13.80 metres starting at a down-hole depth of 34.0 metres. This interval included a 7.05-metre section that averaged 1.06 grams gold and a 0.90-metre section that ran 4.19 grams gold. The hole was drilled to the northwest at a minus 45 degree angle.

International Curator states that the new discovery is of particular significance because the gold occurs in a sulphide-bearing iron formation and is a new type of gold occurrence at Assean Lake. The hole was collared over a strong magnetic anomaly with a coincident induced polarization anomaly, 800 metres east of the Hunt zone. The zone has yet to be tested along strike or at depth.

The two closest holes, HT-85 and HT-89 were collared 200 metres to the west and 400 metres to the east, respectively. Both of these holes intersected anomalous gold values. Hole HT-85 cut a 0.5-metre interval that averaged 1.82 grams gold, 43.1 metres down-hole and Hole HT-89 cut a 0.65-metre section that averaged 2.14 grams gold starting 28.7 metres down-hole. Both holes were drilled to the northwest at a minus 45 degree angle.

A total of four holes were drilled to test the down-plunge extension of the Hunt zone at 100-metre centres. The last hole reported, hole HT-73, intersected only weakly mineralized zones at down-hole depths of 285 and 340 metres. International Curator states that further drilling at tighter spacings will be required to fully test the down plunge extent of the Hunt Shoot.

Holes HT-78 and 80 were drilled to test the near-surface, on-strike extension of the B52 zone. Hole 78 cut a 0.35 metre interval that averaged 1.82 grams gold and hole 80 intersected a 1.10-metre zone that ran 0.45 gram gold. International Curator states that the B52 zone remains open at depth, however, it appears to have a limited strike length at surface.

Drilling continues at Assean Lake and will now be more closely spaced to further define the new gold-bearing zones. International Curator states that its winter drill program consisted of 37 drill holes totalling 4,612 metres and was successful in identifying the iron formation gold mineralization as well as some nickel mineralization. The nickel intersections averaged about 0.5% nickel and were anomalous in cobalt, arsenic and chromium.

International Curator has earned a 60% interest in the Hunt claims by spending $1.25 million. Future work on the property will be performed on a pro-rata basis by the joint venture between Curator (60%)and Rare Earth Metals (40%).
