More drilling slated for Beta Vargas

Lyon Lake Mines (LLL-M) has begun a 2,500-metre reverse-circulation drilling program at its producing Beta Vargas property in Costa Rica.

The program has been designed to outline additional gold reserves on the Canamazo concession in the Guaitilar East area, where previous drilling returned such intercepts as: 1.47 grams gold per tonne over 34 metres, including 2.6 grams over 12 metres, in hole 19; 0.59 gram over 58 metres in hole 9; 3.15 grams over 10 metres in hole 32; and 1.58 grams over 36 metres in hole 5.

The current drill program is following up a trenching program at Guaitilar East which identified three mineralized structures.

Lyon Lake is also conducting a 1,000-metre definition-drilling program at the Beta Vargas open-pit mine. Reserves in all categories currently stand at 2.9 million tonnes grading 1.33 grams gold per tonne. The company poured its first gold at Beta Vargas last December.
