Toronto-based Armistice Resources was recently listed for trading (symbol aci) on the Montreal Exchange.
Incorporated in Ontario in 1984, Armistice, which also trades on the Alberta Stock Exchange, was inactive until February, 1986, when it acquired the mining properties of Aurelian Developers.
The company is currently concentrating its activities on its Sheldon-Larder gold property in McGarry Twp., in the Timiskaming district of northeastern Ontario. A 3-phase, $12.7-million rehabilitation and deepening (from 1,250 ft to 4,100 ft) of the existing Armistice shaft on the property is being undertaken.
Last year, Armistice reports it acquired 81 claims in the Missanabie gold camp in northern Ontario. Fifty-five claims were acquired in Riggs Twp., and 26 claims were acquired in Leeson Twp. near the Renabie mine. Armistice also owns 39 claims in the Hemlo area, located about six miles northwest of the major discoveries there.
The company also owns 15 claims and four fractions in Elbow Lake, Man.; the claims there are optioned to Homestake Mineral Development of Vancouver.
