Montreal Exchange Parquet drill results

An active trader the past few weeks, Parquet Resources of Toronto recently released encouraging winter drilling results from property in Courville Twp., near Val d’Or, Que. One of the holes returned 32 ft of 0.31 oz gold per ton. Parquet traded 226,300 shares during the week, dropping 3 cents to 24 cents .

Down at the beginning of the week, the Exchange finished stronger to record small gains in the market portfolio and mining and minerals index. Daily volume ranged from 4.3 million shares up to 6.7 million shares.

While Brunswick Mining and Smelting has benefited from higher prices for base metals, its volume on the week of 618,000 shares might be misleading; the company, which slipped 25 cents to $11.25, traded 617,300 shares in one day’s activity early in the week.

Top trader, with 817,500 shares changing hands, was Tandem Resources, which gained 12 cents to 65 cents . Tandem has interests in a number of projects across the country, including the promising Moss Lake gold project in northwestern Ontario.

Reporting encouraging results from the Fourax II gold property near Malartic, Que., were partners Augmitto Explorations and St. Genevieve Resources. The deposit, the companies say, remains open at both ends of its 1,700-ft strike length and at depth. Augmitto slipped 6 cents to $1.10 on a volume of 5,200, while St. Genevieve jumped 22 cents to $2.05 on 224,200 shares.

Pleased by drilling results from property located in the Matagami area of Quebec were North American Rare Metals and TSE-listed Dundee-Palliser Resources. One hole cut 22.6 ft of 0.2 oz gold per ton at a vertical depth of about 1,500 ft. North American traded 254,800 shares gaining 30 cents to close at 90 cents .

Earning a 30% interest in the East Leitch mining properties near Beardmore in northern Ontario, from Falconbridge Ltd., is Anodor Inc., which dropped 7 cents to 35 cents on a volume of 10,000. Falconbridge closed unchanged at $23.13. Anodor recently released results from its winter drilling program.
