Toronto-based Aur Resources is making a pitch for control of Louvem Mines, which operates a gold mine near Val d’Or, Que. The current major shareholder of Louvem, St. Genevieve Resources, has agreed to sell its shareholding in Louvem to Aur. Trading 10,900 shares on the week, Aur moved up 20 cents to $3.70.
A cease-trading order has been issued for the shares of Louvem and St. Genevieve over information relating to the results of the tailing processing method which Gold Spinners International is using to process the tailings of Louvem’s Manitou mill near Val d’Or.
Back trading on the ME after a suspension order is Spirit Lake Explorations, the company’s shares closing unchanged at $2.45 on a volume of 149,200.
Orex Exploration, which has been exploring the optioned Goldboro property in Nova Scotia, plans to buy out the interest of the property owner, TSE-listed Onitap Resources, for $8 million. Onitap shareholders will vote on the deal in April. Trading 94,800 shares, Orex closed unchanged at 79 cents .
Freewest Resources, which gained 5 cents to $1.20 with 68,100 shares changing hands, has optioned 110 claims in the Dolbeau area of Quebec to VSE-listed Yellow Band Resources.
