News that two Hughes-Lang companies active in northwestern Quebec, the producing D’Or Val Mines and the soon-to-be-producing Perron Gold Mines, are planning to merge brought differing results. D’Or Val shares moved up 17 cents on the week to 97 cents on a volume of 56,500, while Perron dropped 29 cents to $1.20 on 93,000 shares.
Approval by shareholders and regulatory authorities is needed for the amalgamation to occur. Perron needs money, which D’Or Val can provide, to continue its development; D’Or Val can use the ore Perron should be able to deliver to feed its 750-ton-per-day milling facility.
