Three resource-related companies — Aurtec Mining Development (symbol AUD), Equity Reserve (symbol EQR) and Orbite Exploration (symbol ORT) — were recently listed for trading on the Montreal Exchange.
Aurtec, with headquarters in St. Eustache, Que., raised $440,000 in a public offering involving class A shares. The company has an interest in mine tailings from the Montauban property located near Quebec City and has an option to acquire the Cranberry Head property at Yarmouth, N.S.
Incorporated in British Columbia in 1986 under a different name, Equity’s head office is located in Vancouver. Last December, the company acquired substantially all of the assets of First Exploration 1987 and Co., Ltd. Partnership consisting primarily of flow-through shares, in exchange for Equity common shares.
Equity plans to hold and sell flow-through shares acquired from the partnership and invest the proceeds mainly in equity securities of Canadian resource companies.
Montreal-based Orbite, incorporated in 1983, owns six Quebec mining properties, in the townships of Barraute-Landrienne, Bourlamaque, Guercheville-Drouet-Gradis, Le Tac, Privat-Launay-Poularies and Vassan. Class A shares of Orbite have been listed on the ME.
