Drilling on the Monique property located east of Val d’Or, Que., has totalled 67 holes representing 15,000 m to date, Monicor Exploration reports.
Three gold-bearing zones identified on the property, A, B East and B West, are among the drilling targets. The current drilling program is scheduled to continue until mid-February.
On zone B East, a strike length of 210 m has been identified, to a depth of 200 m. Among the better drill results are the following: hole 80-1, 30.22 g gold per tonne over 0.3 m; hole 95-1, 12.31 g over 2.55 m; and hole 98-3, 17.83 g over 0.9 m. On zone B West, a strike length of 120 m has been identified, to a depth of 400 ft. Visible gold has been spotted in three holes. Among the better results: hole 68-3, 18.4 g over 1.1 m, and hole 74-1, 12.1 g over 4.25 m.
Zone A, which runs parellel to zone B West, has a strike length of 150 m and runs to a depth of 400 m. Among the better intersections: hole 71-1, 13.15 g over 0.7 m, and hole 80.2, 20.46 g over 0.55 m.
Monicor, which acts as the exploration arm of Louvem Mines, also reports encouraging early results have been returned from drilling which has uncovered three new zones, E, F and G.
