Moly Mines awards Metso crusher contract

Australia-focused molybdenum company Moly Mines (MOL-T, MOL-A) has awarded Metso Minerals a contract to build secondary crushers for its Spinifex Ridge project.

Metso, a Finnish-based global supplier of equipment, will design, produce and deliver the crushers to the planned 20-million-tonne-per-year molybdenum and copper processing plant at Spinifex Ridge.

The order, worth A$13.6 million ($12.5 million), follows Moly Mines recent award of a seven-year A$1.1- billion ($1.02 billion) contract to Australian-based mining and construction company Macmahon Holdings (MCHHF-O, MAH-A).

For the duration of the contract, Macmahon will mine more than 180 million cubic metres of material and employ nearly 270 operators.
