Mobile biotank leach plant approved by Giant Bay Res.

The construction of a mobile biotank leach demonstration plant has been approved by the board of directors of Vancouver-listed Giant Bay Resources.

Advanced negotiations are under way with several mining companies to decide which location will be chosen for the first installation of the mobile plant, says President Claus Jensen.

Construction, at an estimated cost of $1.2 million, will start in January, 1987, and is expected to be completed by May, with gold dore poured by mid-year.

The mobile demonstration plant, which will process 5 to 10 tons of concentrate of ore per day, was designed by a Denver-based engineering firm based on the Wright Engineers 100-ton-per-day feasibility study, says Mr Jensen. The president says the fully mobile plant, including the gold recovery circuit, can be installed at any property that has refractory sulphide ore.
