Val d’Or, Que.-based Minorca Resources (VSE) has intersected a wide sulphide zone on its Nicobi Lake base metal property in Le Tac Twp., Que. Although assays are pending, the company says the zone, measuring about 35 metres, was intersected by two drill holes within a 12-hole program. Mineralization includes disseminated nickel and copper sulphides, stringers and massive sections.
Collared to explore the depth potential of the “A zone,” hole NIC-91-2 includes three distinct massive sulphide intersections measuring 4.7 metres, 0.39 metres and 0.36 metres respectively. Hole NIC-91-3, drilled below hole 2, cut extensions of these sections.
Visual inspection of the core suggests that the zone, starting at 24 metres in hole 2 and 20 metres in hole 3, extends to a vertical depth of at least 70 metres, the company says.
