The 2000 New Zealand Minerals and Mining Conference, being held Oct. 29-31 in Wellington, promises few tricks and many treats, including guest speakers and technical research papers.
Delegates will be given a Powhiri welcome, the traditional greeting of the Maori natives, followed by a “mix and mingle” meeting at the Edwardian Town Hall.
Sessions will cover such topics as: the future of mining; environmental rehabilitation of mining sites; and advances in mining technology.
Prices vary, though delegates who register before Aug. 31 will receive a discount.
Brochures and prices are available on the web site www.crownminerals.govt.nz. For further information, phone Tania Bate at 64-4-472-0030.
