MINING MARKETS & INVESTMENT NEWS – NEWS ROUNDUP — Gardener withdraws takeover bid

A takeover offer for Akrokeri-Ashanti Gold Mines (AAGM-C) has gone off the rails.

Gardening company GDL Evergreen withdrew its offer for the African gold miner after it was suspended from trading for failing to meet the CDN’s minimum quotation standards. Akrokeri Chairman Cliff Rand said the withdrawal of GDL’s offer was not unexpected, given the “inadequacy” of the offer.
