MINING MARKETS & INVESTMENT NEWS — INSIDER TRADING — Comaplex execs secure options

According to insider trading reports published by the Ontario Securities Commission in its OSC Bulletin, Comaplex Minerals (CMF-T) issued 795,000 options to four executives in February.

Mark Balog, officer, was granted 165,000 options, which can be exchanged for shares at $1.65, to hold that many options; George Fink, director, was granted 270,000 options at $1.65 to hold that many; Phillip Mudry, officer, was granted 195,000 options at $1.65 to hold that many; and Garth Schultz, officer, was granted 165,000 options at $1.65 to hold that many.

Other transactions reported by the OSC include the following:

  • Aber Resources (ABZ-T) — Alan Bayless, officer, was granted 6,250 option sat $10.35 to hold 68,750 options; Robert Gannicott, director, was granted 15,000 options at $10.60 to hold 315,000 options; Kenneth Hanna, director, was granted 115,000 options at $10.60 to hold 615,000 options; Richard Jones, officer, was granted 20,000 options at $10.60 and sold 300 shares at $10.80 to hold 145,000 options and no shares; John Lamacraft, director, was granted 15,000 options at $10.60 to hold 90,000 options; Donald MacDonald, director, was granted 20,000 options at $10.85 to hold 30,000 options; John Parker, director, was granted 15,000 options at $10.60 to hold 165,000 options; John Phillimore, director, was granted 15,000 options at $10.60 to hold 115,000 options; and Eira Thomas, officer, was granted 15,000 options at $10.60 to hold 125,000 options.
  • Canmine (CMR-T) — Edward Ellwood, director, exercised 225,000 options at 35 cents and sold those shares privately at 50 cents to hold 267,925 shares.
  • Placer Dome (PDG-T) — Rex McLennan, officer, was granted 45,950 options at $17.55 to hold 110,200 options; Bruce Micol, officer, was granted 25,050 options at $17.55 to hold 57,750 options; Stephen Smith, officer, was granted 21,050 options at $17.55 to hold 49,485 options; and James Smolik, officer, was granted 49,900 options at $17.55 to hold 166,310 options.
  • Tintina Mines (TTS-T) — Robert Franklin, director, was granted 50,000 options at 25 cents to hold 150,000 options.
  • TVI Pacific (TVI-T) — Robert Armstrong, director, sold 700,000 shares at 6 cents to hold 383,000 shares; Wilfrid Loucks, director, sold 250,000 shares at 6 cents to hold 94,778 shares; Ronald Simpson, officer, sold 200,000 shares 6 cents to hold 161,978 shares; and Wilfred Stokes, officer, sold 77,500 shares indirectly to hold no shares indirectly and 222,222 shares directly.
  • Wheaton River Minerals (WRM-T) — Wheaton River repurchased 93,500 shares at 27 cents and canceled 112,500 previously repurchased shares to hold 93,500 shares.
