Preparing for production by year-end at La Colorada, 50 km southeast of Hermosillo, Mexico, are Campbell Resources (TSE) and Eldorado (VSE).
Eldorado is earning a 70% interest in the gold project from Campbell. (The junior also has an option to purchase the remaining 30% interest from Campbell.)
Four zones have been identified at the project, where heap-leach testing has been under way. The initial zone to be mined, El Creston, contains estimated reserves of 2.5 million tonnes grading 1.34 grams gold per tonne. Estimated tonnages for the other three zones are smaller, with varying grades.
