Mining operations at Cambior’s Doyon gold mine, near Rouyn-Noranda, Que., have resumed, following negotiations with workers there.
Talks held with the United Steelworkers of America resulted in the renewal of the collective agreement, which now covers a 5-year term. Wages and the policy regarding contract work will be reviewed after three years.
The Doyon mine, which has been in commercial production since 1980, is a 50-50 joint venture with operator Barrick Gold.
