The seventh annual meeting of the Mineral Economics and Management Society (MEMS) is scheduled for March 25-28 in Washington, D.C.
The chairman of this year’s Professional Program and Meeting will be Dr.
Richard Poulin of Laval University in Sainte-Foy, Que. Speakers include Richard Lawson of the National Mining Association and MEMS President Ross Bhappu.
About 25 papers will be presented at the 2-day event, which will include sessions on mine financing, the role of government in the mineral industry, the socio-economic implications of mining, trends in mineral markets and mining laws, and property rights.
