Mineral economics meeting set for Montreal in March

The fifth annual conference of the Mineral Economics & Management Society (MEMS) will be held in Montreal, March 28-30, 1996.

The title of the conference is The Mineral Industry: Responding to the Global Challenge.

Chairman of the program will be Dr. David Humphreys of RTZ; the welcome address is to be delivered by Prof. Brian Mackenzie of Queen’s University; and the guest speaker’s shoes will be filled by Jacques Bougie, chief executive officer of Alcan.

The conference will explore trends in global metals supply, global environmental issues, and mining issues in the former Soviet republics.
