Vancouver — With Pacific North West Capital (PFN-V) drilling its Janes-Davis property, Minera Capital (MNL-V) has launched a 750-metre drill program to the north, on its Murray Lake-Jane Township platinum-palladium property, 48 km northeast of Sudbury, Ont.
A number of exploration programs have been carried out on the property since the mid-1950s. Last year, Minera and Goldwright undertook a program of linecutting, trenching, sampling, and geophysical surveys. Grab samples from sulphide-bearing gabbro are reported to have contained up to 2.63% copper and 1.38% nickel, with anomalous platinum-palladium values.
The project was originally drilled in 1970. Nickel-copper mineralization was hit, but the core was never assayed for platinum group metals. Hole 170-1 returned 0.11% copper and 0.05% nickel over 62 ft. Hole 170-2 returned 0.21% copper and 0.05% nickel over 65 ft.
A total of 19 diamond drill holes have been completed over the property since 1999, returning up to 9 grams combined platinum-palladium-gold over 9.3 metres.
The current drill program is targeting areas where mineralization has previously been located and concentrating along the south shore of Murray Lake.
The junior can earn up to a 50% interest in the Davis Township property from Goldwright Exploration by spending $300,000 over three years.
