Minefinders adds to Dolores deposit

Third-phase diamond and reverse-circulation drilling has expanded drill-indicated gold and silver mineralization by more than 1,500 metres at Minefinders’ (MFL-V) Dolores property in Mexico’s Chihuahua state.

Highlights included 3.1 metres grading 18.5 grams gold per tonne and 23.8 metres grading 6.31 grams gold and 193.37 grams silver.

The drilling extended the strike length south from the Chabacan main zone through the Hondo target area.

Diamond drill holes 47 to 61 returned intersections grading less than 1 gram gold, whereas silver values ranged from 9.32 grams over 16 metres in hole 47 to a high of 223.2 grams over 9.5 metres in hole 61.

Hole 62, drilled 400 metres south of previously reported hole 43, was drilled vertically below surface mineralization, found by line sampling, which returned 2.51 grams gold over 45 metres. Hole 62 cut multiple intercepts, including 41.8 metres of 3.91 grams gold and 135.1 grams silver (including 23.8 metres of 6.31 grams gold and 193.37 grams silver), and a deeper intersection of 7.8 metres grading 1.89 grams gold and 113.76 grams silver.

Hole 63 intersected 25 metres grading 0.24 gram gold and 29.35 grams silver, while hole 64 returned 6 metres of 1.2 grams gold and 115.89 grams silver, and 4.9 metres of 1.16 grams gold and 67.89 grams silver.

Holes 56, 58 and 59 had no significant values.

Holes 2 and 4 returned values of less than 1 gram gold per tonne, with silver values ranging from 27.77 grams over 30.5 metres to 70.63 grams over 12.2 metres in hole 3.

Hole 3, drilled 1,000 metres south of diamond drill hole 62, intersected 9.2 metres of 8.55 grams gold and 22.97 grams silver, including a 3.1-Metre interval averaging 18.15 grams gold and 45.75 grams silver.

The mineralization encountered in hole 3 is at the bottom of a westerly directed hole drilled at an angle of minus 45, on the western edge of the southern Hondo target area.

The other holes were drilled farther east than hole 3 and encountered mineralization showing higher gold-To-silver ratios typical of Chabacan east zone mineralization.

Hole 5, drilled in the East zone, returned 21.3 metres grading 1.71 grams gold and 88.29 grams silver, including 10.67 metres of 2.88 grams gold and 149.55 grams silver.

Minefinders is exploring Dolores as part of an arrangement with Echo Bay Mines (ECO-T), which has an option to buy a 60% interest in the project.
