Fourteen teams from around British Columbia recently competed in rescue and first aid competitions sponsored by the British Columbia Mines Ministry in Nanaimo, B.C. The competition included three categories, with Highland Valley Copper taking the provincial open pit championship, Cominco’s Sullivan mine winning the provincial underground championship and Westar Mining’s Greenhills walking away with the 3-person first aid team trophy.
