Junior Mindoro Resources (MIO-A) has begun a second phase of exploration at its Tiris gold property in Sumatra, Indonesia.
Four drainage basins are being explored by means of soil, geochemical and geological surveys, as well as trenching. An airborne magnetic survey is also being flown over the property.
Previous exploration revealed that each basin contains stream sediments with up to 18.4 grams gold per tonne, as well as abundant boulders containing up to 9.02 grams gold. Several of the boulders were altered to adularia, chlorite, silica, and argillite, all of which are commonly found in epithermal gold systems.
As the property contains little outcrop, Mindoro does not expect to have drill targets outlined until year-end.
