Partners Louvem Mines (TSE) and Aurizon Mines (TSE) are encouraged by results from their Beaufor gold project near Val d’Or, Que.
In December, the operation yielded 1,998 oz., raising production for the year to 9,649 oz. In addition, recoveries from Richmont Mines’ (TSE) Camflo mill averaged 98.75%.
The higher-than-expected test results were attributed to mineralized “ladderwork” veins between the C1 and C2 vein structures, as well as disseminated mineralization present in the wallrock.
On the exploration front, results from the first phase of deep drilling indicate that the structure that hosts the C veins and the associated mineralization are continuous from the 1,750-ft. level to a depth of 2,300 ft. below surface.
The drill program is ongoing, with results (as well as new reserve figures from the deep extension of the C veins) expected in April. The partners are also exploring at least four other vein systems.
