A $1.1 million exploration program is scheduled this summer on the Mets project of Manson Creek Resources and Golden Rule Resources in the Toodoggone area 160 miles north of Smithers, B.C.
Their 1986 drilling and trenching program outlined drill proven reserves in the “A” zone of 92,000 tons grading 0.334 oz gold. More drilling is planned there along strike and also to depth. Two additional areas of favorable geology for gold mineralization were discovered last year by backhoe trenching. These are now called the Cirque and North zones.
This year’s program will include at least 20,000 ft of diamond drilling, divided equally between the Mets zone and the two new discoveries. In addition, backhoe trenching and a helicopter-supported diamond drilling program are planned for their Belle claims seven miles southeast of the Mets deposit.
Mobilization of fuel, equipment, and supplies is scheduled for mid- May. Material will be flown in by fixed wing aircraft to the Sturdee Valley airstrip and then by helicopter to the project area. Diamond drilling should be under way by June 25.
