Messina expands VMS discovery

In step-out drilling on its Boomerang base metal discovery in Newfoundland, Messina Minerals (MMI-V) has intersected significant massive sulphides.

Three holes have been completed on the same section as discovery hole 11, which intercepted a previously reported 13.9 metres core length (9.5 metres true width) grading 13.6% zinc, 2.6% lead and 0.7% copper, plus 102 grams silver and 1 gram gold per tonne. Hole 16 was collared 77 metres directly below the discovery hole and hit 6.7 metres (4.2 metres true width) of 18.3% zinc, 6.3% lead and 1.5% copper, plus 159 grams silver. Gold assays are pending.

Hole 12 intersected the massive sulphide lens 36 metres directly above discovery hole 11, returning 13 metres (9.5 metres true width) of 9.6% zinc, 3.5% lead and 0.7% copper, plus 126 grams silver and 1.4 grams gold.

Hole 15 intercepted the zone 17 metres up-dip of hole 12, hitting 11.1 metres (7.5 metres true width) of lower-grade sulphides averaging 1.7% zinc, 0.9% lead and 0.2% copper, plus 44 grams silver and 1 gram gold. A 0.5-metre section at the bottom of the interval runs 10.3% zinc, 0.7% lead and 0.4% copper, plus 51 grams silver and 1.3 grams gold.
