A re-examination of drilling in 1987 has revealed an extension of the A zone at the Launay-Privat property located 24 miles northeast of Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Messeguay Mines (ME) reports.
The company says hole ML-87- 92, which intersected 14.1 ft of 0.16 oz gold per ton, has extended the zone about 80 ft further south. Another hole, ML-87-90, in intersecting the A zone, cut 29.3 ft of 0.13 oz.
Lying at a depth of 300 ft, these intersections outline a distinct northeast trending gold-bearing zone, which could be an offshoot of the 75 zone, the company says. The A zone is located east of the 75 zone.
The A zone is open to the east and at depth. Messeguay says it is confident of discovering other similar zones on the property.
