Memorial fund honors Jack White

A memorial fund has been set up by Commercial Testing & Engineering Co. of Illinois to honor a longtime employee, Jack White, who died in an airplane crash in 1994.

The company has provided the initial funding for the Jack White Memorial Fund, which will be administered by the West Virginia University Foundation in Morgantown, W.Va.

Income from the fund will be used to provide scholarships to qualified graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the West Virginia University’s Department of Mining Engineering, at the College of Mineral and Energy Resources.

White, who spent 33 years with Commercial Testing, was vice-president of the company’s eastern operations at the time of his death.
