July Resources gained a dime to close at $2.60 on a volume of 33,375 shares. The company has been drilling a gold prospect northeast of the town of Pickle Lak e, Ont. A summer exploration program encountered quartz veins assaying up to 0.8 6 oz gold per ton in grab samples.
Also exploring a gold property near Wright Lake (west of Pickle Lake) is Pinetree Explorations, which moved 10 cents higher to close at 30 cents . Pinetree is ex ploring a 50-claim property at Wright Lake in a joint venture with Alberta-liste d Goldhunter Explorations. Drilling last winter intersected 0.66 oz gold per ton over 6 ft of core.
Shares of Chance Mining were active in the 50-55 cents range on rumors that Fal conbridge may drill a Timmins area base-metal property in which Chance retains a 10% net profits interest. Falconbridge is also said to be considering drifting 6,000 ft from the Kidd mine workings to explore the Chance property underground. Shares of Pat Sheridan’s Dayton Porcupine Mines were active in
the $1.95-2.70 range this week with the close at $2.45.
