Construction of a ramp and extraction of a bulk sample of 30,000 tons is planned by Maufort Resources (ME) at the company’s Tiblemont property in northwestern Quebec.
The company reports encouraging results from its 1987 exploration program: drilling totalled 44,735 ft over 81 holes and six gold- bearing zones were defined.
The most promising zone, the company says, is the Blast, a shear zone 200 ft wide, 600 ft long and open at depth. Visible gold is reported.
Drill-indicated reserves, from surface to a depth of 400 ft, stand at 87,000 tons grading 0.17 oz gold per ton. An 8-ton bulk sample taken from near the Blast zone returned 0.1 oz.
Among the better results from the 1987 drilling:
Width Grade Hole (ft) (oz/t) TI-87-60 1.6 0.48 TI-87-64 2.6 0.38 TI-87-67 2.3 0.54 TI-87-70 2.6 0.5 TI-87-78 1.6 0.62 TI-87-81 2 0.35
In other news, Maufort is offering to purchase, for common shares, all of the shares of the partnership La Societe en commandite Maufort 1987. The offer, which closes April 21, consists of 700 shares of Maufort for each share of the partnership.
