Maufort drilling (December 29, 1986)

The first phase of drilling by Resources Maufort on the Siscoe Extension property near Val d’Or, Que., has confirmed the presence of two distinct gold-bearing hirizons and a major fault zone, the company says. Zone 1 was traced over 2,500 ft along strike and to a depth of 700 ft with values as high as 6.8 ft grading 0.26 oz gold per ton while Zone 2 returned values up to 3.9 ft grading 0.26 oz. Another drill program of 10,000 ft will start in January.
