Martel inquiry report is near

A legislative committee looking into comments made by Ontario Mines Minister Shelley Martel about a Sudbury doctor has concluded its hearings and will deliver its report April 15.

Martel told a Thunder Bay, Ont., councillor at a December reception in that city that she had seen the doctor’s file and that he could face charges related to health insurance plan billings.

Martel later told the legislature that she lied about seeing the file and apologized. The hearings commenced Feb. 10.
