Marston designs Kazakhstan mine

A feasibility study for a coal mine in Kazakhstan is nearly finished, engineering firm Marston & Marston of St. Louis, Mo., reports.

The Kenderlyk project includes an open pit to mine steam coal from two dipping coal seams, mine facilities, coal loadout, railway and barge-loading dock.

Marston and subsidiary Marston Process Engineers have provided engineering and financial consultation to the Kazakhstan regional administration for project development.

Kazakhstan is a former Soviet socialist republic.
