Commerce One/SAPMarkets has been selected as the technology provider for the Global Mining and Metals Procurement Marketplace.
The firm beat out California rivals Oracle and Ariba in a two-day, seven-country contest. To win the contract, each company had to demonstrate its technical and organizational expertise to the marketplace’s founding shareholders, which include some of the world’s largest mining companies.
The on-line procurement marketplace is designed to bring together producers and suppliers in more than 100 countries.
