Alberta-listed Marker Resources has staked some 318 mineral claims covering 12,700 acres in the Fleur De Lys area of the Baie Verte Peninsula of Newfoundland.
President Gordon Barron says this ground is adjacent to the the Devil’s Cover claims of Noranda Exploration.
Marker’s property overlies a thick seqence of pelites, psammites, marble and schists and wedges of serpentinized ultramafics. It is cut by several stages of normal and thrust faulting, says Mr Barron.
Marker plans to spend about $100,000 this summer on mapping, prospecting, sampling and geochemical surveys. The property has never been evaluated for its gold potential, says Mr Barron.
