Vancouver — Mansfield Minerals (MDR-V) has added the La Frontera silver-gold property to its stable of projects in Argentina.
The 3,000-hectare property is located in the northwestern section of the country, in Catamarca province. It hosts a large “low-sulphidation-type” epithermal gold system.
Two main mineralized zones have been identified.
At the 90-by-80-metre North zone, a rock-chip sample returned 2,024 grams silver and 1.07 grams gold per tonne over 5.7 metres. Quartz veinlets, stockworks and breccia fillings in dacitic feldspar porphyry mark the area.
At the 60-by-100-metre South zone, samples returned up to 470 grams silver and 528 parts-per-billion gold. Mineralization occurs in quartz stockworks, breccia filling and zones of silicification.
The two zones are separated by a 600-metre area, which is predominately covered by overburden.
The new project joins eight others held by Mansfield in Argentina. Further channel sampling is being planned.
