Manitoba meeting to display NATMAP results

The Manitoba Department of Energy and Mines will hold its annual Mining and Minerals Convention Nov. 20-22, 1997.

This year’s convention will present the results of work by the provincial government and the Geological Survey of Canada in the NATMAP Shield Margin project, a program of regional geological mapping in the greenstone belts around Flin Flon and Snow Lake.

Also, papers will outline the mines department’s work in the northwestern Superior geological province — a massive area extending east form Lake Winnipeg to the Ontario border.

Roger Clement, president of Monopros, will deliver a talk on the subject of diamonds in Canada, and prospectors can attend a workshop on how to prepare property submissions.
