Some officers and directors of Lytton Minerals (TSE) emerged as sellers of the diamond stock in mid-April.
According to the Ontario Securities Commission’s OSC Bulletin, Director Donald Smith sold 90,000 shares at $3.85-5.75 to hold none. President Desmond Alexander exercised 50,000 options at 10 cents and sold 50,000 shares at $5.37-5.63 to hold 1.6 million options and 178,000 shares. Officer Raymond Davies exercised 25,000 options at 31 cents and sold 25,000 at $5.38-5.63 to hold 275,000 options.
At the beginning of May, Lytton announced the recovery of 44 diamonds from its Ranch Lake kimberlite in the Northwest Territories. Analysts described the results as “disappointing” and the stock dropped almost $2 to $4.50. In other transactions or reports completed since the beginning of March: Aber Resources (TSE) — Christopher Jennings, director, sold 7,000 at $4 to hold 166,000.
Aur Resources (TSE) — Donald Bubar, officer, exercised 30,000 options at $1.53 and sold 15,000 shares at $4.25-4.60 to hold 30,000 shares. Howard Stockford, officer, exercised 43,000 options at $2.13 and sold 43,000 shares at $3.75 to hold 26,900.
Dia Met Minerals (TSE) — According to initial insider reports, Chairman Charles Fipke holds 345,341 shares directly and 6.44 million indirectly (through C.F. Mineral Research and a voting trust) as well as 52,000 options and 150,000 warrants.
Golden Star Resources (TSE) — Eric Friedland, director, sold 119,710 directly and indirectly at $9.37-10.50 to hold none. He also sold 30,290 shares short.
Metalore Resources (TSE) — Penelope McVicar sold 1,000 at $10.25-10.50 to hold 500.
MSV Resources (ME) — Pierre Boudreault, officer, sold 40,000 at 85-91 cents to hold 1.1 million indirectly. Mario Caron, officer, sold 30,000 at 90 cents-$1.35 to hold 1.1 million indirectly.
Pure Gold Resources (TSE) — Larry Wolstat, officer, bought 50,000 at 87 cents to hold 50,000.
Royal Oak Mines (TSE) — George Oughtred, director, sold 200,000 at $5-5.08 to hold 601,667.
Thunderwood Resources (TSE) — Howard Stockford, officer, sold 100,500 at 87-93 cents to hold 153,149.
Western Copper Holdings (VSE) — Friederich Findler, director, exercised 10,000 options at 45 cents and sold 10,000 shares at $1.10 to hold 15,000.
