A decline in metal and mineral prices, as well as forest product and oil and gas prices, offset a large increase in agricultural prices and pushed the commodity price index of Scotiabank down slightly in December, after two months of small gains.
The metal and mineral sub-index was off 1.3% in December from the previous month and is off 11.5% from one year ago.
