Louvicourt drilling intersects sulphides

A 48-metre core intersection of massive and disseminated sulphide has been pulled by Louvicourt Gold Mines (COATS) on the northern portion of company property near Val d’Or, Que. Louvicourt, 58% owned by La Fosse Platinum (TSE), says the sulphides occur in a brecciated cherty rhyolite, downhole from an andesite contact. Visual examination of the drill core does not indicate economic concentrations of base metals. A second hole is being drilled.

The company recently reported intersecting a new deposit 100 metres east of the existing mine workings in a structure known as the East Zone Shear. The discovery intercept in the new oreshoot assayed 11.4 grams gold per tonne across 1.6 metres.

Louvicourt’s joint venture exploration partner is Ronrico Explorations (VSE). La Fosse, having raised the needed funds through a $1.2-million flow-through offering, is financing the work.
