Loss narrows for Goldfields

First-quarter losses for Consolidated Nevada Goldfields (TSE) during the three months ended Sept. 30, narrowed to US$235,000 from a loss of US$2.1 million in the same period last year.

The improved results for the recent quarter reflect continued operations at the company’s Aurora gold mine in Nevada as well as the first full quarter of operations at the Barite Hill mine in South Carolina.

Gold production for the first quarter of fiscal 1992 was 7,388 oz., compared with 4,222 oz. in the first quarter of fiscal 1991.
