Lithos uncovers mineralized pocket

Extraction of mineralized rock from a stope (51-04-00) along the A vein at the Bourlamaque-Nord gold project led to the discovery of a large pocket of quartz-tourmaline-chalcopyrite, close to the granitic-volcanic contact, Lithos (ME) reports.

Bourlamaque-Nord (the former Wrightbar project) sits just east of Val d’Or, Que.

The company says a visual inspection revealed a chalcopyrite content as high as 20% (6.7% copper) and visible gold. A 500-ton sample averaged 0.41 oz. gold per ton (cut to 1 oz.).

The size of the discovery is unknown.

Meanwhile, Lithos has shipped a 10,000-ton sample to the nearby Aurbel mill (the former Belmoral mill) for processing. Results are expected by the end of March.
