Linear bullish after trenching

Channel sampling by Linear Resources (LRR-V) at the Seymour Lake property, near Armstrong, Ont., has returned encouraging tantalum values from granitic pegmatite bodies.

The St. John’s, Nfld.-based company has cut eight trenches across two pegmatite occurrences, the North and South Aubry zones. Results are in hand for channel samples from trench 5, across the south end of the North Aubry zone.

The best result was a 4-metre width at the eastern end of the trench that returned an average 2.39% Ta2O5. The mineralization pinched to 2 metres at the western end, where the average Ta2O5 grade was 0.13%. A grab sample near the eastern end returned a grade of 4.3%.

The channel samples also carried niobium credits, with a maximum grade of 0.31% Nb2O5 nearest the eastern end of the trench. There were also high concentrations of beryllium, lithium, rubidium and cesium. Channel samples from the other seven trenches are in the laboratory.
