I would like to say how much I enjoyed your 75th-year anniversary issue. I especially enjoyed Noble Harbinson’s comments regarding the cancellation years ago of the 3-year tax-free period for new mines versus the million-dollar tax-free lotteries of today. For the uninitiated, a prospector spends his entire life pursuing his dream of discovering the “big one” only to have to share it with the tax gatherers whereas a lucky ticket holder keeps it all.
