Subsequently an all-out effort was initiated to develop an improved safety dog and all mechanical superintendents in the Porcupine became involved to coordinate safety dog design. Ken Williams and I formed the Porcupine Mechanical and Civil Association and I still have my original card and copy of the charter.

Ken was mechanical superintendent of the McIntyre mine at the time and later formed Kilborn Engineering — a name now respected around the world. A. E. Alpine
