Letters to the Editor Freewest, Noranda working near Matheson

A recent article in The Northern Miner entitled “Freewest, Noranda discovery” (T.N.M. Jan. 15/90) is of great interest to the council and residents of the township of Black River-Matheson. The article mentioned Timmins in reference to the project’s location.

I wish to advise that Harker and Holloway twps. are just east of our municipality’s boundaries, and for identification purposes, Matheson, the commerce centre of our large area municipality, is about 30 miles from the discovery referred to in your article.

The municipality of the township of Black River-Matheson is a vibrant and progressive community located on the TransCanada Highway and the Ontario Northland Railway line. We trust you will give our community the recognition it duly deserves. Pierrette Blok Reeve Corp. of Twp. of Black River-Matheson
