LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Coeur d’Alene listed on NYSE

I have read your informative article (T.N.M., May 13/91) on the Kensington gold joint venture in Alaska. The Northern Miner has traditionally done an excellent job of covering mining activities in Canada, and I am pleased that it is now extending more coverage to mining activity in the U.S.

Coeur d’Alene Mines is proud of its work with the Kensington gold project, which is the largest gold project we have undertaken in our 62-year history.

Coeur d’Alene is in charge of the environmental permitting process; is closely working with Bechtel Corp. of San Francisco, which has received the contract for final design and engineering; and, successfully raised $50 million when it sold two million common shares last fall to fund its anticipated share of the project.

I would like to draw your attention to one correction. For your information, Coeur d’Alene is no longer an American Stock Exchange issue. For more than a year, we have been traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The company’s common shares are also traded on the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange which has trading floors in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
