Letters to the Editor Belmoral on `normal course’

I am referring to two recent editions of The Northern Miner (April 2/90, April 9/90). As a shareholder of Belmoral Mines Ltd., I take a dim view of The Northern Miner’s choice of words and statements surrounding the financial situation of this company.

As you are aware, refinancing is a normal course of doing business if gold is your product. I do not believe words like “staving off bankruptcy” and “bleeding” are warranted in describing the position of Belmoral, or indeed any other mining company. Surely The Northern Miner can take a little more professional approach to an industry which it depends totally upon for its very existence. Antony Cappadocia Ottawa, Ont.
