As a sequel to your Nov 17 Odds ‘n’ Sods column by J. H. Morgan, I just returned from Gods Lake, Manitoba and I can report all is well in God’s Country.
Thanks to geologists like Morgan, McMurchy and Downie, northeastern Manitoba became known to mineral exploration companies using maps published by the Geological Survey of Canada.
In 1986, Noranda, Westmin and junior companies such as Tanqueray and Bighorn remain active in the vicinity of Gods Lake. Hopefully, this part of Manitoba will see success as a result of the efforts, years ago, by Morgan and company. Ed Schiller Calgary, Alta.
