I am interested in finding out more about the copper staking rush of the 1960s and the exploration camp, Coppermine River Ltd. at Hope Lake, near Coppermine, N.W.T. Specifically: the number of claims staked over the 1960s for copper, the reason for the copper rush, the cost of setting up the exploration camp and what the shares of C.R.L. were selling for at their highest and lowest.
I would also like to know how many people worked at the camp, when did the copper boom go bust, and a description of the lighter, social side of living in the exploration camps at that time.
I would be most grateful for any related information on these and other topics that you think would be relevant. I would be willing to pay for the photocopying of any of the information. Joanne Irons P.O. Box 276 Coppermine N.W.T. XOE OE0.
