LETTER TO THE EDITOR — Reunion planned for Salmo, B.C.

A long-awaited reunion is planned for next summer in the historic mining community of Salmo, B.C.

Former residents, and employees of the district’s past producing mines, are invited to join together and share fond memories at the reunion, scheduled for Aug. 2, 3 and 4, 1996.

A special invitation is being extended to former employees of Placer Development’s mine, which closed permanently in 1973. Also invited are those that worked at some of the former producers known as Emerald City, Jersey City, or just “Up the Hill”.

A planning meeting will be held in Salmo on Sept. 16.

For information and registration, write to Reunion Committee, Box 517, Salmo, B.C. V0G 1Z0.
